Assoc.Prof. Dr. NGUYEN HONG TIEN
Vice Chairman and Secretary General, Vietnam Water Supply & Sewerage Association (VWSA) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Tien has extensive experience in technical infrastructure management, especially in the fields of water supply, drainage and waste treatment. He is a lecturer at Hanoi Architectural University, National University of Civil Engineering and Vietnam National University, as well as the chairman of many local and international scientific conferences and seminars related to the water supply, drainage and waste treatment sector. Dr. Nguyen Hong Tien is the Vice President and General Secretary of Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, and since 2017, the association has gathered Vietnam’s leading water-related companies to effectively innovate technologies in management, production and business, applied smart water management, and risk management. The association also promotes relations and cooperation with international organizations in Vietnam and other countries around the world. The goal is to exchange experiences, share advanced scientific technologies and serve as a bridge to connect and promote foreign investments to Vietnam. |

Head of International Cooperation Department, Vietnam Water Supply & Sewerage Association (VWSA) Mrs. Ha Thanh Hang finished Master of Science for Water Resources, Water Resources University in 2004, Hydraulic Engineer, Water Resources University in 1982 & Bachelor of Art for Economics, National Economics University in 1993. Currently she’s working at Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) as Head of Policy Department and International Cooperation Department, VWSA and she is also the member of Coordination Unit of New Rural Construction Program; Member of Steering Committee of New Rural Construction Program NTP and Co-Lead of WASH Cluster in Vietnam right now. From June, 2010 to March, 2016, she was Deputy Director of Water Resources Management and Rural Water Supply Department and Director of Standing Office for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation National Target Program; Member of Steering Committee of RWSS Partnership/Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam (MARD). And from Feb 2008 – June/2010, she was Deputy Director of National Center for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (NCERWASS)/MARD |

Since he began working at Binh Duong Water-Environment Joint Stock Company (BIWASE), he has dedicated his knowledge and enthusiasm to the water supply and drainage sector. With almost 20 years of work experience, he constantly learns, researches and applies advanced technologies to the company’s production and business activities, thereby steadily helping the company develop in the areas of clean water production, collection, and wastewater and solid waste treatment. With his help, the company has contributed in improving the living conditions of the people, by providing a modern, clean and beautiful environment to Binh Duong province in particular and the country in general. |

Vice Chairman, Vietnam Water Supply & Sewerage Association (VWSA), Chairman of the Board of Directors, Thua Thien Hue Water Supply Joint Stock Company (HueWACO) Over nearly 30 years as a leader, with wisdom, experience, enthusiasm and creative passion, Mr. Truong Cong Nam has created a breakthrough development for the provincial water supply industry. From a small-scale unit with a capacity of 2,500m3 / day, mainly supplying water for offices, up to now, the total water supply capacity reaches 200,000m3 / day and night with 5,000km of pipeline, safe water supply without distribution. urban and rural areas for 92% of the province’s population (over 1 million people). During his working process, he constantly learns and applies modern science and technology in management, production and researches and technical innovations to better serve the needs of the people with clean water. From here, many valuable initiatives and solutions were born, creating a turning point and revolution in the water industry not only locally but nationwide. He was also the one who inspired the modernization of the water industry. Up to now, he and his associates have won many prestigious awards in technical innovation competitions, scientific and technological innovation awards, in which, won 13 central awards and 25 provincial awards. Especially, there are 3 works recorded in the Golden Book of Vietnam Creation. Professor, Dr. Viet-Anh Nguyen is Vice Chairman of VWSA; Director, Institute of Environmental Science and Engineering (IESE), Hanoi Civil Engineering University, Vietnam. He has about 25 years’ experience in the field of water and wastewater engineering, spending number of efforts in research and development of efficient water supply, low-cost decentralized sanitation systems, sludge and fecal sludge management and resource recovery solutions for the developing countries. Professor Nguyen has experiences in long-term and short-term water sector capacity building. He is active, and has strong national and international networking, and acts as a resource person in Vietnam for number international organizations in this field. Professor Nguyen has been involved in number of water and wastewater projects as consultant for design, project appraisal, system commissioning/upgrading, staff training and technology transfer. He has been also working in the water and environment sector for policy advocacy, preparation of design standards, effluent standards, technical guidelines and textbooks. Professor Nguyen has been nominated as a member of the State Council of Professorship, Chairman of Professorship Council in Civil Engineering and Architecture. |
